This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.

Keeping SLC together and then a para-urban, and Provo together makes sense, but district 2 seems almost too diverse and spread out geographically.

I really like the idea of grouping the congressional districts by common interests such as rural, urban, etc. But Salt Lake County should only be split into two districts, rather than three and the map should use County lines wherever it can so the lines aren't arbitrary.

Of the maps on this page I have looked at so far, it does the best job of protecting the voice of the urban core. That said, the configuration of the remaining rural district is simply unmanageable geographically.
