This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.

This map appropriately groups rural communities with other rural communities, and urban/suburban communities also grouped with similar communities. The challenges and opportunities that exist for Utahns are more similar within rural communities, and within densely populated communities, than they are from downtown SLC to southern Utah.
