This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.

I'm not sure how the people in the West Desert would like to be lumped in with SLCounty in CD2. It seems more like they would have more in common with Cedar Fort and Eagle Mtn.

I was the author of this map.
The intention was to keep as many counties and cities together as possible while keeping the population deviation as close to zero as possible.
Assuming that my efforts are correct, there should be four cities split between multiple districts: North Salt Lake, Midvale, Orem, and Park City.

Not sure how the people in the west part of this CD2 would feel, but it's not bad.
Keeping counties together seems like a real plus.
