This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.

It's great that this minimizes how much Salt Lake County is split and really allows downtown urban citizens and rural citizens to elect representatives that will work towards their interest in terms of transportation, jobs, socio-economic needs, etc. However, it seems like suburban citizens (who also have distinct needs) in both SL and Utah Counties are getting the short end of the stick here. I'd prefer a map that bundles them together better and doesn't create so many county splits.
