Terrible map. Dividing salt lake county in half and putting salt lake with a huge rural area is an awful idea. Completely antithetical to drawing a fair map.
Matt Poppe
I don't love this map. It cuts through the county of SLC and separates neighborhoods and communities.
Julie Wright
I don't think this fairly represents the population of Utah and do not support this option
Martin Shupe
This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.
Jennifer Carlin
The main problem that we encounter in drawing fair maps for Utah is how to split Salt Lake County, the most populous county in the state. I don't understand how grouping SLC in with half of the rural areas of the state makes any sense. This is another example of combining rural and urban interests so that either one or the other loses all representation. This map makes very little sense with regard to keeping communities of interest together. Salt Lake City, Tooele, and St George do not belong in the same district.
Tara J Shupe
This entire line is so strange to me. Make it make sense, except if it were to gerrymander. no.
Dominique Marie Bellanger
Splits communities of interest in Salt lake county.
Also combines urban with rural which prevent proper representation to Rural utah
Michelle Mourtgos
It does not make sense to have Millcreek split separate from Murray and Holladay, but combined with Tooele and St. George.
Lauren Dunn
As a Salt Lake resident and someone who grew up in Utah, I disagree with how Salt Lake City is divided and clumped with such a large portion of rural Utah, especially so far south. Southern rural values and needs very from northern rural ones, as well as from urban ones. Geographical values and needs should be more accurately represented in how our districts are divided.
Stuart Hepworth
Salt Lake with St. George, just as it is on the current map, is and always will be a total violation of community of interests and a gerrymander.
Teri McCabe
Why are the maps from the people so much better than from the legislature?
