This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.

We should not be splitting Salt Lake County into any more than two districts. Urban, Suburban and Rural voters each have distinct and unique transportation needs, jobs, socio-economic opportunities, and interests. Each of them deserves fair and equitable representation. This map divides urban and suburban communities of Salt Lake County too much, diluting their interests with rural folks living far away.
