This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.
Brian Bosworth
A shamelessly partisan and divisive map. We should not be splitting SLC into three districts. Urban, Suburban and Rural voters each have distinct and unique transportation needs, jobs, socio-economic opportunities, and interests. Each of them deserves fair and equitable representation. This map divides urban and suburban communities too much. Salt Lake County should not be split into more than two districts. The people living downtown have more in common with those living in South Salt Lake than they do with people in Daybreak so the way this map splits SLC is especially weird and unjustifiable.
Malcolm Reid
The legislature's desire to have a mix of urban and rural in each district is really a smokescreen. Their real desire is to split up SL County to dilute the impact of moderate and liberal voters. SL County should be in two districts and no more than that.
Madeline Knauer
Park City should be placed with SLC - and SLC should not be split up like this
