This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.

Three counties are divided in this map, without regard to communities. I cannot support this map.

It's with good reason that the commission abandoned this map. It split Salt Lake City off from the vast majority of its suburbs, paired it with St. George, and split 14 different cities. When you use a gerrymander as your starting point, you generally get a gerrymander as your end result. This map is very unambiguously non-compliant with Prop 4.
