This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.

The districts should be tailored to the needs of the communities not the parties. This map tears apart communities like West Valley. We need representatives that can actually serve the needs of the communities. Therefore, we need maps that are built around the shared needs of Utah's communities rather than just tallying numbers based on party.

In addition to Stuart's comments, splitting Utah County into all 4 districts is...a choice. And keeping San Juan County with places like Logan.

There's basically zero connection between Tooele and Box Elder, don't put them in the same district. This is a pretty foundational problem for this map due to how much population you put across both sides of this divide in district 1.
