This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.

I actually like this one a lot. The Utah County split makes sense, and the Salt Lake County split is acceptable. I like that it keeps southern SLCo with northern Utah county and goes to the east.

Not too bad at all.

Wow, this map is not bad at all. I can see that they tried their best to follow the city limits, and I really like that. District 3 looks like it would be a competitive district, which is a positive change. I also like that District 4 brings many rural areas together, especially since they have different priorities than the more densely populated areas. This district also includes a lot of territory for potential future development and larger infrastructure projects.

This map creates four districts that represent the unique communities within Utah. Districts with rural and urban mix are logical because the urban centers serve as anchors of interest for those communities. It also ensures that northern Salt Lake County voters have a representative that meets the needs of their community, which is unique. It also ensures communities of color are not disenfranchised.

I really like this one!

One of the better proposed maps, good compactness, and no obvious issues from what I can see here

There are 3 split cities: North Salt Lake, Cottonwood Heights, and Lehi. All other cities, including those which cross county lines, are kept whole.

Do you know how many city splits there are? Doesn't look like many, but I'd be curious on that stat.
WA
With only 3 county splits too? Impressive!
