This map fails to keep Salt Lake County, the most populous county in our state with 34% of the entire state population as a single community of interest. This map goes against allowing a single group to choose its own representative. The power of the citizenry is diluted with any division of this county.
Brian Bosworth
We should not be splitting SLC into three different districts. That defeats the purpose of allowing urban, suburban, and rural folks to elect representatives that reflect their communities. People with similar jobs, transportation needs, and socio-economic interests should be bundled together, not split apart and diluted.
Paul Ramirez
This map does not represent Salt Lake County well. The way it is split into three parts defeats the purpose of fairness and equal representation. Dividing Salt Lake County in this way does not reflect how the communities actually function. The communities in Salt Lake City and Davis County are very different in character and style, and Morgan County adds yet another distinct dynamic. Grouping or dividing them without considering these differences undermines fair representation and weakens the voice of the people living there.
